Sarah Bamford is the elected Vice Chair of Governors and is currently Acting Chair of Governors, following the resignation of the Chair. The Governing Body will hold an election for a new Chair of Governors at their meeting on 5th July 2023.

About me

I joined GPPS Governors as Local Authority Governor in September 2021. I have lived in Up Hatherley for over 35 years and I am Chair of Up Hatherley Parish Council as well as volunteering at Lakeside Community Project, our local foodbank.

I have a diverse background having worked in the Social Housing Sector for nearly 30 years, during which time I undertook professional qualifications as well as gaining a BA Hons degree with the Open University. My children (now grown up) attended GPPS when the school was quite new, having been established to serve the expanding community when new homes were built in Up Hatherley during the late 1980s.

Over 15 years ago, I changed careers and retrained as an Adult Nurse, gaining a BSc Hons and I now work part time as a Chemotherapy Nurse. It's a bit of a juggling act, but I enjoy giving something back to the community and I am keen to help in any way I can so that Greatfield Park Primary School can reach its full potential.
