Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement

Greatfield Park Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

‘Safeguarding children and protecting them from harm is everyone's responsibility.  Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play’, (Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2018).

We have members of staff who have undertaken specialist training and take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) and Deputy DSLs (DDSLs) to deal with safeguarding and child protection concerns.

Whole school training is given to all staff annually and all new staff have induction training in safeguarding. The Single Central Record (SCR) is updated to reflect this.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

School Policies at Greatfield Park Primary School are robust and applied by all members of our community. They are readily accessible to all members of our community via the policy section on our school website.
